CNSNews reports:
(CNSNews.com) – The cleric who wants to build a mosque and Islamic center near Ground Zero claims that ideas from his book were incorporated into President Obama’s landmark Cairo address to the Muslim world last year by one of the drafters of the speech.
Feisal Abdul Rauf made the remarks during two media interviews in Egypt last February.
White House staffers involved in drafting Obama’s speech, according to media reports, included speechwriter Ben Rhodes, political advisor David Axelrod, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, and Rashad Hussain, a deputy associate counsel later appointed by the president as special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
In the interviews in Egypt, Rauf referred to his 2004 book What’s Right with Islam: A New Vision for Muslims and the West (later reprinted as What’s Right with Islam is What’s Right With America). He specifically mentioned chapter six. Read the story here.
Wowrldnetdaily.com reports:
While the nation has been focused on a proposed Islamic center near Ground Zero, a mosque has been functioning just four blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks with rumored plans to build even closer to the spot that once housed the World Trade Center.
The mosque, the Masjid Manhattan, recently boasted of plans to construct a “House of Allah” next to the World Trade Center, exclaiming on its website, “Help us raise the flag of ‘LA ILLAHA ILLA ALLAH’ in downtown Manhattan!”
The Masjid Manhattan has been holding classes at 20 Warren Street, four blocks from Ground Zero. The mosque also holds prayer services several times a day at a cramped location at 384 Broadway, eleven blocks from the former World Trade Center site. Read the story here.
New York, NY—On Sunday, August 22nd, protesters from across the country descended on lower Manhattan, and told President Obama, the Hamas terrorist organization, Mayor Bloomberg and Imam Rauf: No Cordoba Mega-Mosque at Ground Zero!
President Obama’s support for the construction of a mega-mosque and Islamic center two blocks from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan has sparked public outrage and bipartisan condemnation. The controversial plan would place a 13-story mosque where Islamic terrorists killed nearly 3,000 people on 9/11. On Sunday, August 22nd, the Coalition to Honor Ground Zero rallied thousands of patriotic Americans near the World Trade Center site to protest the building of a mosque way too close to hallowed ground.
With the rumblings of hundreds of motorcycles coming down West Broadway in lower Manhattan, a dazzling combination of construction workers, firefighters, veterans, 9/11 families and first responders, civil and human rights leaders, women’s rights advocates, and residents of the Ground Zero neighborhood united for an exciting rally of speeches, protest songs, and patriotic music at the Ground Zero mosque site.
The message at the rally was clear: Do not give violent Islamic jihadists a moral and symbolic victory by building a mosque on hallowed ground.
“Hard Hat Pledge” workers were in attendance at the rally. They have promised not to work or take part in the construction of a mosque near ground zero. Moreover, firefighters, veterans, the families of 9/11 victims, first responders, human rights workers, women’s rights leaders, and residents of the Ground Zero neighborhood participated in this morning’s rally at the northeast corner of West Broadway and Church Street at Park Place in Manhattan.
“This Ground Zero mega-mosque would not only defile hallowed ground, but it would be seen as a permanent symbol of violent Islamic victory in the heart of Manhattan,” said Tim Brown, firefighter who was at the World Trade Center on 9/11 — he lost 93 friends that day. “The American people have rejected the Ground Zero mosque, and it’s now time for our elected representatives to demonstrate the same wisdom by stopping this provocative and insulting construction plan from becoming a reality.”
Andy Sullivan, union worker and creator of the Hard Hat Pledge, added:
“Enough is enough. The middle class has spoken and the people don’t want the mosque. Jihadists have a long history of constructing mosques as monuments of victory over those they have conquered. We will not allow the building of this symbol of Jihadist victory on the ashes of fallen Americans. Simple decency should govern this decision.”
The rally-goers, including many 9/11 families and first responders, stood in the rain for nearly two hours to hear extraordinary speeches and to form a “citizen army” to launch the American Reclamation Movement, a new civil and human rights initiative to stand up for all we cherish: our liberty, our system of justice, our sense of equality of all men and women under the law.
Speakers included:
· Tim Brown, firefighter who was on the scene at 9/11 and lost 93 friends, head of The Bravest
· Andy Sullivan, Blue Collar Corner, creator of the Hardhat Pledge not to build the Ground Zero Mosque

The Coalition to Honor Ground Zero is a network of leaders and organizations of all backgrounds that share a profound concern about the proliferation of terrorism and radical mosques, the encroaching stealth jihad, and the imposition of harsh Shariah law across the globe. We believe in freedom of worship, but also are aware that a number of mosques have been revealed as veritable “Trojan Horses,” masquerading as places of worship when they in fact have proved to be sources of jihadist activities and terror plots against America. The coalition is dedicated to investigating, exposing and standing up to such mosques in our midst, as well as to preserving our freedoms and protecting our nation from harm. In modern times, a “Trojan Horse” has come to mean a trick in which a supposed gift or peaceable action is presented with the purpose of enticing a target into allowing a mortal enemy into an otherwise secure location.
Remember when NASA was committed to America’s leading the world in space exploration for the good of mankind? Well, this isn’t the NASA you remember. Our Muslim President, Barack Hussein Obama, wants to see NASA as a tool for the promotion of Muslim relations. I suggest that in the interest of world peace, we give all of our space know-how to Iran. That would really help Muslim-American relations now, wouldn’t it? Fox News reports:
NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his “foremost” mission as the head of America’s space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.
Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA’s orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel. Story here.
Here is more on the horrifying assault on Constitutional freedoms that took place in Dearborn, Michigan where law enforcement is apparently observing Sharia Law.
Is it illegal to preach Christianity to Muslims in America now? Pamela Geller writes about the incident in Human Events.
Acts 17 Apologetics, a Christian evangelistic group, was banned from passing out fliers at this year’s Arab Festival in Dearborn, Mich., but they went to the festival anyway and ended up getting arrested.
On Saturday, I got this message from David Wood of Acts 17: “Muslims threatened to kill Nabeel [Qureshi, an ex-Muslim and David’s colleague] and me if we showed up again at Arab Fest in Dearborn, so we went there yesterday. They didn’t kill us. Instead, police arrested us and we got to spend a night in jail (along with two others who were video recording us).” Read Geller’s column here.
Muslims screamed, “Allah is great!” as Christians were handcuffed. No, it wasn’t Saudi Arabia, it was Dearborn, Michigan. This video clip will show what happened last week in America. Also, see this piece from Worldnetdaily.com for more.
A Muslim student group at University of California, Irvine has been suspended due to disorderly conduct during the recent visit of an Israeli official. Muslim student groups have been hotbeds for jihad nationwide for years, but universities usually refuse to touch them for fear of a campus intifada or because they back the students’ agenda. OneNewsNow reports:
LOS ANGELES – A University of California, Irvine, disciplinary committee ruled that a Muslim student group should be suspended for at least a year because of a protest that disrupted a talk by Israel’s ambassador and led to the arrest of 11 students, according to documents released Monday.
The letter from a student affairs disciplinary committee to Muslim Student Union leaders said the group was guilty of disorderly conduct, obstructing university activities, furnishing false information and other violations of campus policy. University spokeswoman Cathy Lawhon said the committee’s decision will be a binding recommendation to the campus’ office of student affairs if a planned appeal by the group does not succeed. The world media continue to report on the “peace” and “aid” flotilla full of “activists” that was attacked by Israel last week. Frontpage Magazine looks a little closer at the group IHH and its goals.
While IHH is indeed involved in the aforementioned humanitarian endeavors, its overall objectives are much broader. Belying the dove of peace whose image appears on its logo, IHH overtly supports Hamas, is sympathetic to al Qaeda, and maintained regular contact with al Qaeda cells and the Sunni insurgency during the bloodiest stretches of the Iraq War. Moreover, IHH has supported jihadist terror networks not only in Iraq, but also in Bosnia, Syria, Afghanistan, and Chechnya. According to Carnegie Endowment analyst Henri Barkey, IHH is “an Islamist organization” that “has been deeply involved with Hamas for some time.” A 2006 report by the Danish Institute for International Studies characterized IHH as one of many “charitable front groups that provide support to Al-Qaida” and the global jihad. Is the IHH beginning to sound less and less like a “humanitarian relief” group? Let’s look a little deeper still…Read article here.
In further developments, DEBKAFile reports on the escalating crisis between Turkey and Israel after Turkey’s terror cell on board the flotilla was exposed.
Here is a piece from today’s New York Times that reports on how Turkish funds were used to test Israel’s blockade of Gaza.
As the world wails like a Greek Chorus over the supposedly vicious attack by Israel on a “peace flotilla” that contained “activists”, the truth about what happened is coming out. Melanie Phililps in the UK’s Spectator Magazine writes the following:
As the international community rushes to condemn Israel for the violence on board one of the ships in the Gaza flotilla, which left a reported 10 people dead and dozens injured, it is now obvious that the real purpose of this ‘armada of hate’ was not merely the further delegitimisation of Israel but something far worse.
Gaza’s markets are full of produce, thousands of tons of supplies are travelling into Gaza every week through the Israeli-controlled border crossings, and there is no starvation or humanitarian crisis. It was always obvious that the flotilla was not the humanitarian exercise it was said to be. Here is footage of the IDF offering to dock the Marmara — the main flotilla ship — at Ashdod and transfer its supplies and being told ‘Negative, negative, our destination is Gaza’.
And now we can see that the real purpose of this invasion — backed by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), a radical Islamic organization outlawed by Israel in 2008 for allegedly serving as a major component in Hamas’s global fund-raising machine — was to incite a violent uprising in the Middle East and across the Islamic world. As I write, reports are coming in of Arab rioting in Jerusalem. Read the article here.
Frontpage Magazine also addresses the world outcry about the dead jihadists and the vilification of Israel in the incident this weekend:
Much regret is being expressed about the deaths of the “activists” who were among those attacking Israeli naval commandos with knives, clubs, iron bars, chairs, and snatched handguns on the Mavi Marmara early Monday morning. The ship was one in a six-ship flotilla of Muslim and radical-Leftist anti-Israeli activists that was approaching Gaza with the expressed aim of breaking Israel’s naval blockade of the Strip and bringing purportedly badly needed humanitarian supplies. The Mavi Marmara was also known by the Israeli authorities to be the largest and most hostile ship in the flotilla.
Yet, either out of poor intelligence or naiveté on the part of their superiors, the commandos descended onto the ship unprepared, bearing only paintball rifles. It was only after several of them had already been severely injured and at least one of them thrown off the boat (see some of the brutality here) that the commandos finally got permission to open fire with their handguns and saved their comrades and themselves.
