Islam may be sending its warriors to fly planes into US buildings, bomb our subway systems and plan dirty bombs in major cities, but the threat that gets the attention of the US military is Christians and their end-times beliefs. This is a very disturbing column from Chuck Baldwin who tells about the army report that fingers American Christians as a threat because of their eschatology. Please see how your tax dollars are being spent and how you, as Christians, are being once again promoted as a “threat.”
With the terrorist shooting by a Muslim soldier at base on American soil recently, you’d think the Army would have a better grasp on the real threat from within.
*Update* Direct link to Covenant for Civility is here.
Join us at 2pm Central for the Crosstalk Show as guest Chris Rosebrough, host of Fighting for the Faith, will discuss the Covenant for Civility just signed by Jim Wallis, Brian McLaren, Chuck Colson and others. What is Christ’s example when dealing with spiritual wolves? Why are evangelicals like Colson willing to agree to biblical terms with men like Brian McLaren who reject the authority of the Bible in the first place? We’ll be discussing all of this today on Crosstalk. Listen live at our website or to the archived show later.
Netanyahu: “[After the Holocaust,” the Jewish people rose from ashes and destruction, from a terrible pain that can never be healed. Armed with the Jewish spirit, the justice of man, and the vision of the prophets, we sprouted new branches and grew deep roots. Dry bones became covered with flesh, a spirit filled them, and they lived and stood on their own feet. As Ezekiel prophesized: ‘Then He said unto me: These bones are the whole House of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up, our hope is gone; we are doomed.’ Prophecy, therefore, and say to them: Thus said the Lord God: I am going to open your graves and lift you out of your graves, O My people, and bring you to the land of Israel.’ I stand here today on the ground where so many of my people perished — and I am not alone. The State of Israel and all the Jewish people stand with me. We bow our heads to honor your memory and lift our heads as we raise our flag-a flag of blue and white with a Star of David in its center. And everyone sees. And everyone hears. And everyone knows – that our hope is not lost.”
Rosenberg: “The question for all Israelis and all people everywhere is now this: If the prophecies of Ezekiel 37 have come to pass in our lifetime, isn’t it remotely possible that the prophecies of Ezekiel 38-39 will come true in our lifetime as well?”

The creeping deadness in Christian churches can be attributed to many things. False doctrine is one of them. An endemic, man-centered emphasis that has created circus churches is another. But what about the pathetic spiritual condition in churches that publicly have all their doctrinal ducks in a row? How do you explain the lack of power, the prayerlessness, the underlying sense of deadness in so many churches that are supposedly sound? Perhaps there is a clue found in the recently released findings of a study that reported half of all clergy are viewing porn.
Years ago, I heard a pastor in New York City preach a powerful message about private sins among Christians and the deadening effect it has on churches. The Holy Spirit departs, and all that is left is the dead letter. All that remains is flesh to try to accomplish what God alone can accomplish.
That pastor mentioned that due to his national ministry to pastors, he received letters from around the world. He told of hearing from hundreds of pastors’ wives whose lives had been shattered by internet porn. Pastors’ studies, once a place where ministers of the Gospel would seek the Lord on their knees, have become places where raw moral sewage is flowing from the worst websites in existence.
The enemy has used porn to derail more lives and ministries than probably anything else. It’s as close as typing a short three-letter word into a search engine. If half of all pastors are watching this filth, you can only guess at what the laity is doing. Worst of all, according to Pure Life ministries, more and more women are falling into the cess pool. The growing number of child-molesting females is a testimony to what has been unleashed.
We are living at a time that resembles the that of Noah. Everyone, including tens thousands of professing Christian pastors, seems to be doing what is right in their own eyes. Scripture tells us that judgment begins at the house of God. Porn-viewing pastors, and porn viewing Christians in general, have reason to tremble.
With the capitulation of the Czech Prime Minister to the European Union globalists, the Lisbon Treaty is in place, and with it a permanent office of head of the European Union:
“2009 is also the first year of global governance, with the establishment of the G20 in the middle of the financial crisis. The climate conference in Copenhagen is another step towards the global management of our planet.”
Is this the man predicted by Daniel 7 to lead a Revived Roman Empire?
As reported earlier on CTBlog, Ireland approved the EU Constitution, from the WSJ:
Anti-treaty groups were conceding defeat. “I’d like to congratulate the Taoiseach, who ran an absolutely masterful campaign,” said Declan Ganley, the leader of “no” group Libertas, referring to Ireland’s prime minister. “They know how to overturn a result that doesn’t suit them.”
Ireland alone among the 27 EU countries put the Lisbon Treaty to a vote. The others ratified it through their parliaments.
The last remaining obstacle is the signature of the Czech president.
In the EU capital, officials rejoiced and quickly began laying the groundwork for the bloc’s new structure, though a hurdle remains: The Czech Republic’s euroskeptic president, Václav Klaus, has refused to sign his parliament’s ratification of the treaty.
While most Americans don’t keep an eye on events across the pond, Ireland is getting ready for a 2nd referendum to pass the Lisbon Treaty.
The Lisbon Treaty, among other things, would create a President of the European Union, which some argue the EU is the “Revived Roman Empire” of Revelation.
Ireland’s ratification is crucial, because the treaty must be ratified by all member nations to go into effect. Ireland is the only member of the European Union to reject the “Treaty of Lisbon” in their June 2008 referendum. Every other nation has ratified it or is in the process of ratifying it, and so Ireland will try again October 2nd.
Political forecasting site InTrade estimates this as very likely to pass.
The Intrade market shows a strong chance of the Treaty being passed on this second attempt. There is currently an 80.0% probability of acceptance by Irish voters.
Opposition to the Lisbon Treaty will not be nearly as active as they were in 2008 according to Reuters.
