Rise of Creationism on Campus an “insidious problem”

The leftist UK paper, The Guardian, reports on a terrible problem on college and university campuses there. It’s the growing rejection of Darwinism. Yes, it must be difficult to see all those years of indoctrination as futile, but it appears that more and more students are rejecting the Darwin’s ideas as the foolishness that they are. This quote deserves a chuckle:

“There is an insidious and growing problem,” said Professor Jones, of University College London. “It’s a step back from rationality. They (the creationists) don’t have a problem with science, they have a problem with argument. And irrationality is a very infectious disease as we see from the United States.”

And you, Professor Jones, have a problem with explaining where “rationality” comes from in the first place. The real problem is professors who want logical argument and rational thinking while they teach kids that they are the result of random chance acting on matter, that they are highly evolved slime, and that there is no designer of any of it. It just happened, see?

So what is rationality, Professor Jones? Where did it come from? According to your absurd and vain thinking, you believe that it is a rational idea that the entire universe and every bit of life in it is an accident. That’s rational? Besides, the ability to even think in a rational way presupposes an order in the universe and an order in the human mind that cannot be explained by Darwin fans. They have stolen their epistemology from Christians. They are wearing borrowed clothes.

All humans, including Professor Jones, know full well that there is a God behind it all. They have suppressed that truth in spiritual rebellion. (Romans 1:18) That’s why Professor Jones’ thinking, and that of the Guardian editors, has become foolish and worthless. The book of Colossians (2:3) tells us that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hid in Christ. When you reject God, you become absurd in your thinking. Professor Jones is Exhibit A.

Atheists wanting to burn the Origin of the Species

Ray Comfort is giving out 1,000 books on 100 campuses, including Wisconsin’s own UW-Madison.

In November of 2009, we will be giving away more than 100,000 copies of Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species at 100 top U.S. universities (other individuals and churches have purchased approximately 70,000 copies to also give to students). This will be the entire publication (304-pages). Nothing has been removed from Darwin’s original work. As usual with reprints of On the Origin of Species (there have been over 140 reprints), there will be an Introduction. My name will be on the cover (for those who think that we are somehow being deceptive). In one day, 170,000 future doctors, lawyers and politicians will freely get information about Intelligent Design (and the gospel) placed directly into their hands!

What do atheists think about this?

* “Perhaps we should just call for a book burning!”
* “In this instance, I would advocate book-burning.”
* “I’m not into burning books, but this one deserves to be.”
* “Anyone up for a large bonfire?”

285 Atheists visit Creation Museum

Answers in Genesis’ Creation Museum recently hosted 285 atheist/agnostic members of the Secular Student Alliance. This event was even featured in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune! Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis blogged about their visit:

Looking back on the day, I find it ironic that an ardent atheist like this prof would bother bringing 285 people to our museum and hear our biblical messages—people who would not even think about attending church. And here, they got the gospel message! We are grateful for the opportunity to share with them.

Check out the full post (it’s a long one) and learn what happened when such a crowd encountered the massive Creation Museum.
