Focus on the Family: Anti-Bullying Efforts Push Gay Agenda

When it comes to the accusation that anti-bullying efforts are supporting sexual perversity, the gay activists don’t hesitate to agree:

As kids head back to school, conservative Christian media ministry Focus on the Family perceives a bully on the playground: national gay-advocacy groups.

School officials allow these outside groups to introduce policies, curriculum and library books under the guise of diversity, safety or bullying-prevention initiatives, said Focus on the Family education expert Candi Cushman.

“We feel more and more that activists are being deceptive in using anti-bullying rhetoric to introduce their viewpoints, while the viewpoint of Christian students and parents are increasingly belittled,” Cushman said.

Public schools increasingly convey that homosexuality is normal and should be accepted, Cushman said, while opposing viewpoints by conservative Christians are portrayed as bigotry.

Eliza Byard, executive director of the national Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, agrees with a big part of that statement.
“Yes, we want LGBT students afforded full respect,” she said.

AFA, Family Groups Condemn Prop. 8 Marriage Ruling

The following are statements released today regarding a California Federal District Court judge who overruled the will of California residents.

Statement from Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Association, in response to Judge Vaughn Walker’s ruling overturning California’s marriage amendment, also known as Prop 8:

“This is a tyrannical, abusive and utterly unconstitutional display of judicial arrogance. Judge Walker has turned ‘We the People’ into ‘I the Judge.’

“It’s inexcusable for him to deprive the citizens of California of their right to govern themselves, and cavalierly trash the will of over seven million voters. This case never should even have entered his courtroom. The federal constitution nowhere establishes marriage policy, which means under the 10th Amendment that issue is reserved for the states.

“It’s also extremely problematic that Judge Walker is a practicing homosexual himself. He should have recused himself from this case, because his judgment is clearly compromised by his own sexual proclivity. The fundamental issue here is whether homosexual conduct, with all its physical and psychological risks, should be promoted and endorsed by society. That’s why the people and elected officials accountable to the people should be setting marriage policy, not a black-robed tyrant whose own lifestyle choices make it impossible to believe he could be impartial.

“His situation is no different than a judge who owns a porn studio being asked to rule on an anti-pornography statute. He’d have to recuse himself on conflict of interest grounds, and Judge Walker should have done that.

“The Constitution says judges hold office ‘during good Behavior.’ Well, this ruling is bad behavior – in fact, it’s very, very bad behavior – and we call on all members of the House of Representatives who respect the Constitution to launch impeachment proceedings against this judge.”

Aug. 4 /Christian Newswire/ — Proposition 8, the 2008 California Constitutional amendment defining and recognizing marriage between a man and a woman, suffered a severe blow. Judge Walker ruled against the voters who approved Proposition 8 by 52 percent of the vote.

After California’s Supreme Court overturned proposition 22, the statute approved by voters defining marriage, the voters took to the polls in reaction to the court’s judicial activism.

“Today’s ruling is indicative of an out-of-control judiciary willing to circumvent California’s direct democracy by imposing their point of view,” said Karen England Executive Director of Capitol Resource Institute (CRI). “Family values are under constant assault now more then ever. The case will head to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, a court popularly known for its left-of-center rulings.

850 Rabbis Decry Israel’s “Supreme Court of Sodom” Over Gay March

For years now the imperial judiciary of Israel has demonstrated a clear bias against things and people religious and the traditional values and heritage of a Jewish people described in the Torah (Bible) as a “Nation of Priests and a Holy People”. This is just the next stage of confronting and silencing religious opposition locally and worldwide.

This Perversion Pride Parade would never be countenanced in Mecca, the Vatican, Karbala, or Moscow, where the mayor and Russian Orthodox Patriarch vigorously oppose it. The “brave” “progressive” Israeli Government and Supreme Court would never dream of allowing the parade route to include Arab East Jerusalem or the Al Aqsa Mosque. The Moslem community locally and worldwide would never tolerate this. Just ask Arab Knesset member Sheikh Ibrahim Sarsur. Thus we see the Israeli elite treating religious Jews with less respect than their Arab co-citizens.

We are further outraged by the deafening silence of over 30 religious members of the Knesset including: the Shas party, Agudath Israel, Degel Hatorah, and the National Religious Camp. Their taciturnity demonstrates de facto acquiescence to abomination thus spiritually endangering the residents of Israel who are surrounded by terrorists and enemies. This also spiritually jeopardizes Jews worldwide.

Several years ago, Knesset members Meir Porush and Uri Ariel laid down in front of the parade to demonstrate at least token opposition to this sacrilege (disgrace). Why can’t all religious and traditional office holders, national and local, gather for the glory of G-d and send a worldwide message of Defending the Holy Land? They are also guilty of not addressing this blasphemy with appropriate legislation. Shame on them!

We turn to Christian groups and leaders worldwide, i.e. the Vatican, the various Patriarchs, Focus on the Family, Family Research Council, etc., to stand up and defend G-d’s Courtyard by bombarding the Israeli Prime Minister, Government officials and the mayor of Jerusalem with constant protest.

As for the Rabbinical Alliance, we urge continuous pressure on the Israeli government by Christian and religious potential tourists until the Israeli homosexualists decide: IS ISRAEL TO BE THE WORLD CAPITAL OF HOLINESS OR HOMOSEXUALITY?

Obama Administration Sabotaging Defense of Marriage Act

Boston, MA – In his decision declaring section 3 of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional, Judge Tauro characterizes Congress’s decision to define marriage for federal purposes as between one man and one woman as an “irrational” desire to “punish[]” same-sex couples based solely on “animus.” While Judge Tauro’s conclusions are unfounded, far-reaching, and should be reversed on appeal, even more shocking is the fact that the Obama administration is intentionally sabotaging DOMA.

In court papers submitted by the Obama administration, the federal government expressly disavowed the purposes set forth by Congress in passing DOMA. In particular, the administration stated in a September 2009 memorandum that “the government does not rely on certain purported interests set forth in the legislative history of DOMA, including the purported interests in ‘responsible procreation and child-rearing’ – that is, the assertions that (1) the government’s interest in ‘responsible procreation’ justifies limiting marriage to a union between one man and one woman and (2) that the government has an interest in promoting the raising of children by both of their biological parents.” Not only did the administration disavow these important legislative justifications for DOMA, but it relied on various politically motivated statements by medical and social science organizations for the proposition that children raised by gay and lesbian parents are as likely to be well-adjusted as children raised by heterosexual parents. Having disavowed Congress’s stated purposes for DOMA, the administration argued that Congress passed DOMA to maintain the status quo.

What’s at Stake for Christians in the War Over Homosexuality

The conflict in our culture over homosexuality is heating up at an astonishing pace. The battle now needs to be waged on many fronts simultaneously: in the media, in our schools, in the courts, on campus, and within the medical profession. Most tragically of all, the battle over sexuality threatens to divide Christianity as nothing has since the Reformation.

It is in this last arena where I entered the fight to begin with, and where I believe our central focus should be. We are in a fight to determine who we are created to be. God is our Creator, so the battlefield always ends up at the foot of the cross.

So why isn’t this issue of immediate concern to more confessing Christians? Homosexual activists and their allies are, in case one hasn’t noticed, the torch-carriers for a movement to destroy biblically-oriented Christianity and its positive influence on our culture. They won’t be able to reinvent Christianity, of course. Christ’s authentic Church of true believers will remain steadfast even if we’re stripped of all we have in this world. But they could destroy our culture. Massachusetts Elementary School to Hand Out Condoms

Provincetown, Massachusetts, a long time resort spot for homosexuals, has made national news by announcing that it will distribute condoms and counseling to children without parental notification. Parents are also not allowed to say no to the condom hand-outs.

School officials in Provincetown, Mass., recently adopted a policy to make condoms available to elementary and high school students beginning this fall.

The new policy requires school nurses to supply the contraceptive if a student asks for it.

With each free condom, students will receive counseling, including information on abstinence. But parents will not be informed and cannot ask the school not to provide condoms to their child.

Kris Mineau, President, Massachusetts Family Institute, called the new policy “radical” and “absurd.”

“Making condoms available to first graders bullies parents to submit to an agenda that promotes sexual promiscuity to innocent children at their most vulnerable age,” Mineau said in a statement.

The policy states that the Provincetown schools do not approve of sexual activity by students. Still, residents are not uncomfortable with it.

Mineau commented that the decision by the Provincetown School Committee “demonstrates the lengths to which some will go to emasculate parents’ rights and undermine the notion of encouraging children to delay sexual activity. Read the story from the Christian Post here.

White House Sponsors Unannounced LGBT Reception

Homosexual activists are glowing at the White House reception planned by the Administration for tomorrow. Pridesource.com reports:

At least three leaders of Michigan’s LGBT community were invited to an LGBT Pride Month reception June 22 at the White House where they will join other leaders from across the country in both celebrating the community and meeting with President Barack Obama.

Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh, Affirmations CEO Leslie Thompson and Equality Michigan Executive Director Alicia Skillman are among an undetermined number of individuals who received personal invitations to the Washington, D.C., event. No official list of invitees was announced, nor did the White House make the reception publicly known. All three will be meeting President Obama. (Emphasis added) Read the story here.

Little surprise that Mr. Obama couldn’t restrain himself from once again pushing homosexuality in his “Father’s Day” statement released by the White House where he mentions those raised by “two fathers.” God’s judgment is on America in every area of life whether it be economic, moral or spiritual. The gushing oil leak in the Gulf that cannot seemingly be stopped is a metaphor for the judgment of God that is flowing from His throne to every corner of this nation–unstoppable.. Barack Obama’s moral and spiritual bankruptcy is not the cause of God’s judgment on America. It is His judgment.

A federal judge who will decide the constitutionality of California’s ban on same-sex marriage wants lawyers during closing arguments Wednesday to discuss the meaning of “choice” in sexual orientation and a possible finding that Proposition 8 attempted to “enforce private morality.”

Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who has been presiding over the federal marriage trial in San Francisco, sent lawyers a list of 39 questions he wants addressed when the trial ends Wednesday after four hours of closing arguments.

Pro-Homosexuality Anglicans Seek U.S. Government Help

Well, the United Methodists initially pulled ahead in the race towards hell today with their spiritual blender seminary announcement, but the Episcopals, running a close second, have now won by a nose at the finish line. WASHINGTON, June 11 /Christian Newswire/ — Decrying as “missionaries of hate” U.S. Christians who preach in Africa against homosexual practice, a former bishop of the Anglican Church of Uganda has called upon western countries to use their influence to promote acceptance of homosexuality in Africa.

During his appearance in Washington, Christopher Senyonjo was hosted by Bishop Gene Robinson of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, the first openly homosexual bishop in the Anglican Communion. The two spoke at the liberal Center for American Progress about anti-homosexuality legislation in Uganda, which they blamed on U.S. evangelicals. They also called for a broader effort to decriminalize homosexual practices in Africa. Senyonjo’s appearance at CAP was part of a six-week speaking tour of the United States, sponsored by Integrity USA, an unofficial homosexual caucus in the Episcopal Church.

While Senyonjo has been removed from the Episcopate by the Church of Uganda, he continues to portray himself as an Anglican bishop. During his visit, Senyonjo was scheduled to meet at the White House with foreign policy officials of President Obama’s administration.

A talk on June 8 between Robinson and Senyonjo began with opening remarks from Michael Posner, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. Posner said he was there to “lend the support of the U.S. government to this very important subject.”

“LGBT rights are human rights and we are working on a daily basis to promote them as we would any other human rights,” Posner said.

“Where I hope we are headed is to discover the enormous diversity in human sexuality,” Robinson said. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were as many sexualities as there are human beings?”

FRC Praises Vote to Maintain Federal Blood Safety Rules

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Family Research Council praised today’s decision by the federal Advisory Committee on Blood Safety and Availability to reject any change in current blood donation rules. Current policy provides that men who have had sex with men at any time since 1977 are permanently “deferred” from acting as blood donors, because of the high rates of HIV infection in that population. The panel, which offers non-binding advice to the federal Department of Health and Human Services, voted 9-6 on Friday afternoon against recommending any immediate change in the policy.

Peter Sprigg, FRC’s Senior Fellow for Policy Studies, offered testimony to the panel prior to the vote, urging that the current policy be maintained. After the vote, Sprigg said, “This panel heard a day and a half of testimony, including the latest research on HIV risks in the blood supply, but in the end they recognized that there is no alternative screening policy that can be shown to maintain the safety of the nation’s blood supply.”

In his testimony, Sprigg noted, “The principal motivation of those who seek a change in the current policy is to reduce what they perceive as ‘discrimination’ against homosexual or bisexual men. … However, the blood donation policy does not exist to serve socio-political purposes, nor should it be changed to advance them.”

A change in the permanent deferral policy for men who have sex with men had been urged by homosexual activist groups such as the Gay Men’s Health Crisis and a group of liberal members of Congress, led by Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). “Social and political concerns about ‘discrimination’ and ‘stigma’ cannot be allowed to trump the health of those who need life-saving blood transfusions,” Sprigg declared.

The Food and Drug Administration’s website states, “Men who have had sex with men since 1977 have an HIV prevalence … 60 times higher than the general population, 800 times higher than first time blood donors and 8000 times higher than repeat blood donors.”
