AP Does Hit Piece on Homeschool Texts

The Associated Press is just now discovering that Christian science textbooks reject the theories of Charles Darwin. In that curricula like Abeka and Bob Jones have been around for something like 30 years, I’m glad that the Associated Press has finally caught up to this reality. You can almost hear the legislation being created that will force publishers of creation-science texts to be “scientifically credible.” Here’s the story they ran.

This is probably one of the scariest things I've read on CrossTalk so far. It shows how brainwashed people are about evolution, and how easy it is for people who feed lies to kids to point fingers and say “liar” about those who speak truth. Unbelievable article.

I've always wondered how a whole nation of people could be deceived into following someone like Hitler. This makes it so much more clear.

Yet another example of how lazy, ignorant and stupid people in this nation have become. Boo hoo, I'm a non-religious homeschooler and I can't find books for my curriculum that don't have a “religious theme.” “Those who don't, however, often feel isolated and frustrated from trying to find a textbook that fits their beliefs.” Really? Is amazon.com inaccessible from your vortex in the universe? Have all public libraries within a 100 mile radius ceased to exist? This a whiny, ignorant mentality that reflects the broader entitlement mentality of our culture. “Oh, I don't have something pre-fab available to me like others do, so I will cry like a baby about it.” Heaven forbid you should think for yourself, construct your own curriculum and work hard at being an integral part of your childrens' education. Nope – Improvise, adapt and overcome have no place here. We have home schooled all our kids, and learned early on that you can't rely on a single source canned curriculum solution. We've used many resources to round out the education that we gave our kids. Stop whining and blaming other people and get to work.

I am personally sick to death of this kind of trashy not-so-veiled attack on religious freedoms in this nation. Go cry to someone else. AP will print anything that fills their bill of having something (anything) to try to bash Christians with.

Hey, Mr Coyne – I predict you'll “feel fairly strongly” about how wrong you are when you stand before the Creator of the Universe at the end of your life.

An article on Creation Ministries International tells how the government can shut down Christian schools with their new law banning anything but positive discussion of evolution.

I studied with a now-defunct parochial school that used A Beka, and when I was forced to switch after sixth grade, I could sense the difference in text quality. Instead of teaching facts, they taught feelings and propaganda, and it killed my grades. Worse yet, I was forced to worse government schools after being sexually assaulted, nearly losing an eye to a bleach attack, as kids began to assault me for my lack of respect for things such as a song with a $25,000 and 25 point word. The kids would teach in that “college prep” school and government school after I was forced by the family those $25,000 and 25 point words and gestures, along with teaching of liberal virtues.

As I learned the hard way, A Beka and Bob Jones were right.
