Public Schools Face Financial Meltdown

Things are not good for government education as states are facing catastrophic budget shortfalls. Some districts have dumped music and art, added to class sizes and cut special education, guidance counseling and summer school, and things are reportedly about to get worse.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – The nation’s public schools are falling under severe financial stress as states slash education spending and drain federal stimulus money that staved off deep classroom cuts and widespread job losses.
School districts have already suffered big budget cuts since the recession began two years ago, but experts say the cash crunch will get a lot worse as states run out of stimulus dollars.

The result in many hard-hit districts: more teacher layoffs, larger class sizes, smaller paychecks, fewer electives and extracurricular activities, and decimated summer school programs.
The situation is particularly ugly in California, where school districts are preparing for mass layoffs and swelling class sizes as the state grapples with another massive budget shortfall.

The crisis concerns parents like Michelle Parker in San Francisco, where the school district is preparing to lay off hundreds of school employees and raise class sizes because it faces a $113 million budget deficit over next two years.
“I’m worried they’re not going to have the quality education that’s going to make them competitive in a global society,” said Parker, who has three kids in district elementary schools. Read the full story here from AP.

A constitutional Republic is built upon one single premise…
It is only good for a moral people.
Once God and His morals were deemed illegitimate …
The floor was dropped out of society and Pandora's box of evil and chaos is swift to fill the vacuum.
Moral indifference and moral repudiation leads to confusion, Confusion leads to Chaos.Chaos leads to tyranny, bondage, and enslavement….
Yet insanely, all in the name of “freedom”….freedom from judgement and freedom from morality….gussied up by demons to appear like some promised utopia.

In the final reality…we are all , each of us…slaves and servants…either humbly and gratefully to God and His Son , Jesus Christ …or we are slaves to sin , and death and Gods' increasingly arrogant and God rejecting creation known as world leaders …aka mankind…below.

The principal of my son's Chicago public school believes within 10 years the school system will be privately operated – public schools will be obsolete. The budget is being cut every year. Also, the public schools are notorious for churning out poorly educated students. Why pour money into a failing system? Frankly – in my opinion – many city public school systems are filled with poverty stricken students, some of whom are extremely difficult to educate. I don't know the answer to these problems (or even if there ARE answers), but trying something new never hurts and I would look forward to a private school system. However, my youngest is 12 and by the time these changes take place he will most likely be out of high school.

Lisa Kentala: As long as liberal socialists are elected there will always be a failing public school system. The teachers unions and the NEA will guarantee it. They will also guarantee that they remain a monopoly, using what they see as an unlimited pool of taxpayer monies. You cannot maintain a socialist state without propagandized, ignorant graduates of a system that purposely dumbs down students into compliant drones. Try homeschooling instead of waiting or believing the lie of this principal who is deceiving you. See: http://www.hslda.org. Better yet, elect conservatives if you want real change soon!

In my opinion, public education has worked wonderfully. It has, the more the “government” has seized control, produced exactly what it was meant to produce: illiterate young Americans who believe that the way to achieve anything is by the generous hand of Big Brother; that he/she is nothing more than a glorified ape; promiscuity and drug use is a fad, a rite of passage for all people (just sowing their wild oats, is all); and most importantly, to hate America. They must hate America and they must have come to a full knowledge of the truth: the Constitution demands a “separation of church and state” and that is why the angels in the ACLU and the humanists’ god, the government, swooped into take away prayer and the Ten Commandments from schools.
Besides, if not for unread liberals who would vote for Democrats? (This excludes Aldous Huxley, Karl Marx, Hobbes, Al Franken, the clown on the street corner who, for five dollars, will make you a giraffe out of green balloons, etc.)

I just want to point something to everyone's attention. The A.P report above came from the notorious city of San Francisco a.k.a Sodom City. The wrath of God is revealed against all ungodliest of men who suppress the truth in error. California is rebellion against the Lord of Heaven. Just like the rest of the U.S. I was emailed by American's for truth a year or so ago. You would not believe the filth and the vileness that goes on, and the police stand idely by and do nothing. What a breach of justice. They pass hate crimes in Washington and they get 3 to 4 feet of snow. And we wonder why the school system is going broke. There is still hope in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Repent and believe the Good New's.
