Why is Google Blocking “Islam Is” Search Recommendations?

This is not from a Christian organization, this is from American Atheists:

Notice when you start typing in the Google search field that it shows recommendations below the field? The recommendations are based on popular searches and a rather nifty algorithm that tries to determine what it is you are searching for.

But Google is intentionally blocking these recommendations for “Islam is…”

Try it for yourself. First, establish exactly what Google should be doing.

In the search field type “Christianity is” and you will see recommendations of “********, not a religion, a lie, false, a cult, wrong, fake, dying, Jewish, and not a religion t-shirt.”

In the search field type “Hinduism is” and you will see recommendations of “monotheistic, false, polytheistic, the majority religion of, the oldest religion, not a religion, fake, most commonly found, characterized by, and wrong.”

In the search field type “Buddhism is” and you will see recommendations of “not a religion, wrong, not what you think, bullsh*t, polytheistic, a religion, false, based on what concepts, the best religion, and atheism.”

In the search field type “Judaism is” and you will see recommendations of “false, not a race, not a religion, a race, a religion of the book, not Jewish, a gutter religion, monotheistic, a cult, and a religion.”

Try typing “Atheism is” and you will see recommendations of “a religion, dead, not a religion, wrong, the new fundamentalism, growing, a non-prophet organization, so senseless, illogical, a religion supreme court.” Clearly they are not holding back on the Atheists.

Now, let’s try Islam. Type in “Islam is” and you will see…

Absolutely nothing. That’s correct. Google makes no recommendations based on searches of “Islam Is.”

Why is Google blocking search recommendations for “Islam is?”

  1. Its obvious that there cannot be any dissent against Islam because it is rapidly becoming a protected religion despite its vicious doctrines against Jews and infidels (Christians namely), and its acts of unprecedented violence. I wonder if sites that proclaim the truth about Islam and expose the very suras out of the koran to prove it (2:62-65, 5:59-60, 7:166, 9:30) will be targeted next?

Why are they blocking it? Simple… they don't want their heads cut off.

  3. dave says:

Good observation. But there is some redemption.

Try “Mohammed is” and you get “a false prophet”, “the antichrist”.

Then try “Jesus is” and except for “my homeboy” and “just alright” , you get
    “Lord”, “Savior”, and “God”!

  4. The question is, where will this all end? Can we look to expect that our Christian sites are blocked? Will we be censored online for mentioning our Lord and His gospel? And is this just a mirror of what every day life shall be like?

    Soli Deo Gloria

Apparently they are claiming it is some sort of bug…”Google says it’s working to fix a bug in Google Suggest that is blocking search suggestions related to Islam”. Seems highly unlikely to me though. http://searchengineland.com/islam-is-blocked-by...

I know that, like usual, I'm going to stick out as a black sheep here, but why is this worth writing an article about and getting upset about and going down the road of “OMG, what is going to happen to our Christian websites?!?!?!”

Is it really worth our time and effort to expose whatever conspiracy there may be behind Google's not providing search suggestions for “Islam is…?”

    Will we ever grow up?

  7. Tom Riggle says:

This is certainly an indication of the ever-growing strength of militant Islamism. The more people – and corporations – try to be politically correct (or don't-shoot-me inoffensive) – the more these bullies will grow.

On the bright side, if this continues, we will not have to send our troops over there to fight the militants. We can be fighting them here. [sarcasm mode]

  8. Don C. says:

I just did it. It's no longer blocked. You get all sorts of info.
