From “You Lie” to “Not True”

Well, a Justice of the Supreme Court didn’t take kindly to Obama criticizing his opinion…

Politico:

Linda Greenhouse suggests that Alito wasn’t objecting to the question — open to argument — of what the ruling means for foreign companies and their subsidiaries. He was, she writes, objecting — accurately — on a more technical note:

Justice Alito shook his head as if to rebut the president’s characterization of the Citizens United decision, and seemed to mouth the words “not true.” Indeed, Mr. Obama’s description of the holding of the case was imprecise. He said the court had “reversed a century of law.”

The law that Congress enacted in the populist days of the early 20th century prohibited direct corporate contributions to political campaigns. That law was not at issue in the Citizens United case, and is still on the books. Rather, the court struck down a more complicated statute that barred corporations and unions from spending money directly from their treasuries — as opposed to their political action committees — on television advertising to urge a vote for or against a federal candidate in the period immediately before the election. It is true, though, that the majority wrote so broadly about corporate free speech rights as to call into question other limitations as well — although not necessarily the existing ban on direct contributions.

Justice Alito is not the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

The audacity of the president to lecture even the Supreme Court! His speech last night was steeped in arrogance…no moving to the 'center' that many predicted. Absolutely not! He is going to keep ramming all these liberal policies down our throats whether we like it or not. The election last week didn't phase him in the least. He doesn't get it or, if he does, he doesn't care what the American people want…He, the Supreme all knowing one, knows what is best for us. Full steam ahead! His way or no way….that is what I heard despite his lip service to bipartism cooperation.

Do you believe our Lord, Jesus Christ to be a conservative? A liberal? A replican? A democrat? Those terms are too small for God. In what way is scorning the President of the United States, who the American people elected, edifying to the body of Christ? Praying and belieiving God to change Obama's heart is much more profitable, not to mention our duty by God regardless of our personal feelings towards him. Galatians 6:9 says “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Wearymom2, I ask you out of love to never grow weary of sewing seeds of love and trust in Jesus.

I was simply giving on my opinion of the president's speech…that makes me an unloving Christian? I suppose all the good Christians in Nazi Germany felt no scorn whatsoever for Herr Hitler? Could it be they did feel scorn for his arrogance and his devilish policies and yet still prayed earnestly for his salvation? Maybe they also prayed that, if he continued to reject Christ and continued on his destructive path, he would be judged and removed as a leader. Their prayers, thankfully, were answered. We have rights and freedoms (God-given) that are worth protecting and defending.

I never said anything about my party affliation so don't assume…I am neither Demo or Repub. I care about what is happening in my country though. I care that our President seeks to kill millions more unborn babies through govt run health care. I care that my grandchildren will be taught in their schools that homosexuality is a normal and acceptable lifestyle and that to speak out against it is hate speech…I care that the institution of marriage is under attack. It is not unloving to care about these issues and to criticize our elected officials and to hold them to account.
