When Truth is Sacrificed for Mystical Experience

Berit Kjos has published a piece by Ray Yungen that outlines the dangers of experience trumping objective truth in the Scriptures. Evangelicals have avoided doctrinal teaching from the Bible in favor of life-enhancement sermons where Scriptures are ripped out of context and used as a proof text for whatever life success tips the pastor is teaching. The result is that Christians are doctrinally illiterate. Eastern-style mysticism is making big inroads through the emerging church, and it is a direct result of biblical ignorance.

Ray is so right on! I thank God for these “watchmen on the wall” who look out for my well being! Bless the Lord and keep me alert
