Crosstalk: Britain’s War Against Christianity

Today’s Crosstalk at 2pm Central will feature a representative from the UK’s Christian Legal Centre in London. It is hard to believe that the nation that produced some of the greatest Christian preachers and missionaries is now openly warring against the public expression of the Christian faith. Watch this short video from CBN News to see just how bad things are getting in the land of Spurgeon. It is already happening here in America.

It is incredible to see the institutional bias toward Islam on the part of the media in the West. Thank you for posting these, Cecil.

  2. Greg Bolter says:

Islam is taking the lead because of the lack of family values and morality in the current secular societies. It seems to me that Christianity is lagging far behind on these issues.

  3. cecilandrews says:

Greg, you are quite right that the morality, including family values, of the so-called Christian Western world has degenerated into the type of Godless society referred to by Paul in Romans chapter 1 and of course Islam trumpets itself as the answer to that moral decline. However their 'family values' such as a Muslim man's polygamous rights, their so-called honour-killing system [simply a licence to murder], the Muslim husband's 'right to rape' a wife at any time etc hardly offer an attrractive alternative. The problem is not 'Christianity' but the depraved human heart and only the Gospel of Jesus Christ will change the heart of God's elect but the reprobates will by their own choice continue on their wicked way to eternal damnation. The media outlets such as the BBC will, if the Lord doesn't return soon, live to rue the day they set their faces against the Christian way of life in favour of an Islam that will, if it gains power turn on them and make them conform to Sharia law.

  4. Greg Bolter says:

Living right in a wrong society is indeed a hurtle over which to have to persevere. Like with King David and other men in the Old Testement, poligamy was occasioned in Abrahamic-based societies, and even so today. However, in Islam, even though up to four wives is permitted, it is indeed a rare occurance; most Islamic scholars recommend just one. And as far as forced sex is concerned, that is basically unheard of amongst God-fearing Muslims and occures very rare, if at all. There is so much misinformation from Christians concerning Muslims that one should look to the purpose of those spreading rumors as fact. Their intent might just be to poison your mind against a major religious group. You know, Muslims have a far better opinion of Jesus than the Jews do – Muslims know Him as a major Prophet, the Jewish people say that He was demon-possessed.

  5. cecilandrews says:

Greg, what the Apostle Paul said about his former co-religionists, the Jews, could equally be said about many Muslims – 'they have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge' (Romans 10:2) – so they are both equally in the same boat – spiritually 'lost'. As for the Muslim 'better opinion' of Jesus, they are just as bad and perhaps worse because, unlike the Jews, who like themselves deny His deity, Muslims also deny His death. The reality is that as both groups do not 'abide in the doctrine of Christ' (2nd John 9) neither group 'has God'.

As for your assertions about polygamy being 'rare' and forced sex often being 'unheard of', that may be the case in some non-Muslim majority scenarios, but just watch the scene change as Islam increases in those areas both in numbers and in power.

And, just returning briefly to Muslim 'family values', do you think it is right for the Islamic female victim of 'gang-rape' to be stoned to death and for the perpetrators to be given the equivalent of a 'slap on the wrist'?

As for the purpose of faithful, concerned Christians putting out correct information about Islam it is to warn people about the true nature and intent of this truly devilish ideology and not as you rather worryingly and even uncharitably suggest to 'poison minds' – in your view is that what Paul was doing in Romans 10?

I hope you realise also that as the Lord opens up opportunites, these same faithful and concerned Christians seek to witness for the true Christ to Mulsims and to other lost souls whose minds are 'blinded by the god of this world'.

  6. Greg Bolter says:

To paint all Muslims according to the wrong actions of a few, is similar to a Muslim claiming that all Christians are murderers because some of them used to kill abortion doctors. And we all remember the playful hijinks of those Banners of The Cross – the Crusaders.

  7. cecilandrews says:

Greg, Muslims would of course be totally wrong to paint all Christians as murderers because some claiming to be Christian acted against the teachings of Christianity in carrying out murder.

When I identify evil actions carried out in the name of Islam I am identifying actions that are sanctioned by the ideology that is Islam – unlike so-called 'Christian' murderers who act contrary to the tenets of Christianity, those carrying out these evil actions in the name of Islam are acting fully in accordance with the tenets of that evil system.

As for your reference to 'the Crusaders' – those' Crusaders' were certainly not Christians, they were Roman Catholics and Roman Catholicism is another devilish totalitarian non-Christian system.

Your attempt to portray Islam as having something to commend it flies in the face of the words of the Lord Jesus Christ who said “a corrupt tree [such as Islam] bringeth forth evil fruit… neiher can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit” [Matthew 7:17&18].

Anyone who seeks to promote such a system as Islam, whether that promoter be an organisation like the BBC or just an ordinary individual citizen is aiding the cause of those who 'preach another gospel' and who are according to Paul under God's 'anathema' [see Galatians 1:6-9] – Paul was not writing that to 'poison minds' against the Judaisers but to protect God's people and to proclaim Christ's gospel.

I certainly identify a kindred 'Spirit' with Paul, something Greg that I have not thus far experienced in our exchanges.

the day is coming when not only will christianity will be banned, but ALL religions will be banned.! the book of revelation tells of the time when Babylon the Great ( world empire of false religion) will be destroyed…and that time is soon upon us.. the scriptures are being fulfilled!

  10. todd777 says:

I like your arguement here…but do not muslims believe in the writings of the so called old testament? these prophets themselves wrote about the Messiah in which the Jewish people condemned! I don't fully understand the muslim faith but I do wonder if this is true? do they or do they not have faith in these older testament writings?

  11. Greg Bolter says:

Muslims trace their Spiritual ancestery back to Abraham, as do the Jews and Christians.

I take issue with two statements you made:
    1) “However, in Islam, even though up to four wives is permitted, it is indeed a rare occurrence; most Islamic scholars recommend just one.”

Maybe the one who is misinformed is YOU.

“An internet-based survey conducted by a Saudi newspaper reveals that 93% of women surveyed admitted experiencing sexual problems in their marriage. According to female activist Dr. Madeha Al-Ajroosh, socially conservative Saudi Arabia lacks any formal or comprehensive survey about partner rape. She told Arab News that it is difficult to carry out any scientific survey, as “few women are willing to open up and discuss their sexual lives.” http://www.thewip.net/contributors/2009/06/bahr...

There is an epidemic of rape going on in Europe by Arab immigrant youths. While these young rapists probably do not fit your definition of “God fearing Muslims”…their lack of respect for women came from their exposure to the teachings of Islam.

wearymom2: Thank you for your tireless expose of Islam's dirty side, which, as we know, is readily available for all to see via the internet. We no longer require the filtered and biased services of the liberal media which would like to suppress all this. God bless you.
