Crosstalk Today: Gospel-Powered Parenting

William Farley, pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship in Spokane, Washington, is my guest today on the Crosstalk Show. His new book, Gospel-Powered Parenting: How the Gospel Shapes and Transforms Parenting, is one of the finest, perhaps the finest, book on parenting that I have seen in many years.

As parents, we so often focus on external conformity to rules and expectations, while the real heart issues get ignored. It’s a great way to produce a healthy crop of pharisees and legalists. This book covers the real gospel-centered foundation for discipline that is rooted in grace. The author also points out how a loving marriage preaches more to your children about Christianity than anything else. Farley also points out the crucial responsibilities of Christian fathers.

This book is not a how-to manual for obtaining conformity from your children in the home. It shows how our parenting should be rooted and grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The pages are filled with a beautiful sense of God’s amazing grace to us and teaching on how to convey this in our child-rearing. Tune in at 2pm Central at the Crosstalk website.

I truely believe it lead to my own early conversion to Christ. It was dynomite. The church needs to here this message.
